So yesterday I cycled up from near Holyhead, through the little byways and hills on the north of Anglesey (did about 3500ft of climbs in the day in total). Came along an amazing new cycle path up to Colwyn Bay, half way along the path I was met by an incredible thunder storm that thundered down from the mountains, first time I had put on the full wet weather gear in the whole time I have been travelling around the coast (pretty incredible for Wales I should think).
Wales is an amazing and spectacular country that has beautiful wild places. The language and culture is something to be proud of (there was a good moment cycling through Port Talbot and hearing a welsh male voice choir blasting out of a car stereo while the bloke was cleaning his car).
I arrived in Colwyn Bay about 10pm yesterday evening to be met by our friend BT and the most spectacular sunset (pictured here). When I got to BT and Jeffs, supper was on the table. Pretty perfect I reckon. Today I made a little film about BT's soap business and uploaded a short one of John Moller the busker who I listened to in Porthmadog the other day.
I would like to thank my really good friends who have put me up and ridden with me through this lovely country: Pat and Jess in Cardiff, Pete, Paul and Millie in Tenby, David and Clare in Cardigan, Paul and Franka in Carnarfon and BT and Jeff in Llandudno Junction. I had such a good time and will remember this bit of my journey always.
Tomorrow I head towards Liverpool, the forecast says rain.
