I've known Richard King for some years, I meet up with him at least once a year at the Do Lectures (he organises the brilliant music). Through Richard I got to know about Caught by the River, a lovely blog about, well rivers, the countryside and all the nice slow things that make living in Britain so good. Robin Turner and Jeff Barrett (from Heavenly records) help keep the site ticking over. They also publish one or two great books. I was very happy to be involved in the new book by writing a chapter about seeing Britain from a bicycle saddle.
In a couple of weeks we are having an evening in London where I will be lucky enough to be talking with Rob Penn and Mike Carter about cycling around Britain (Mike was the bloke who did the same journey and wrote about it in the Observer each week) and Rob is the bloke who did the TV programme about building the perfect bike (It's all About the Bike). Not only that but Martin Noble from the brilliant British Sea Power will be talking about his piece for On Nature (the CBTR book). Well, here's all the info, and if you around, it will be great to see you there on the 6th July at the Stag in Hampstead.
Wish I could be there. Looks great.

I, too, wish I could be there but I am thousands and thousands of miles away. Have a good time and tell Rick King hello from 18milesperhour.
